Requiring extra power via two 6-pin PCIe connectors, the GTX 295 has its GPUs clocked at 576 MHz, the shaders @ 1242 MHz and the memory at 1998 MHz. The card offers dual-DVI and HDMI connectivity and, from the tests posted today, in games like Call of Duty: World at War, Brothers in Arms: HH, Far Cry 2, Crysis Warhead, Left 4 Dead, Dead Space at multiple resolutions and mostly without high AA or AF settings, it manages to beat the Radeon HD 4870 X2. The Radeon also won quite a few rounds itself, especially at a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels.Nvidia's plan is to release the GeForce GTX 295 at CES 2009 next month and have it priced at $499, slightly above the cheaper Radeon HD 4870 X2 around.
